    Description

This is an exceptionally fine example of the last-ditch World War II Japanese Type 30 bayonet manufactured by the Jinsen Arsenal in Korea that remains in excellent condition. It features a straight quillon and crudely made square pommel, riveted wooden grips and a bambo wooden scabbard with rounded end and metal tip. The butt of the pommel is marked with Japanese characters and the number “31089”. The ricasso is nicely marked with the Japanese star character for the Jinsen Arsenal. The unfullered blade is complete with 100% of the original blued finish showing the rough machining marks and is absolutely flawless. The original factory sharpened front half of the blade is blued and with a very sharp tip. The wooden handles are an attractive medium brown and are without damage. The bamboo wood scabbard is a thing of beauty to behold and completely without damage with both cord ties 100% intact. The metal throat and tip fittings are excellent and retain much of their original black finish. Attached to the throat of the scabbard is beautiful, light tan rubberized frog that remains completely intact with only slight wear where the throat of the scabbard rests on it. This is an extremely fine example of the last-ditch type of bayonet and one that remains in outstanding condition. Seldom seen in this condition and would be very tough to upgrade. As fine as they get.
