WW2 Or Before Officers Shin Gunto / showato sword is named. Condition is as seen in photos. Here is your chance to own a wonderful showato katana the nakago is of a crude style and is not signed giving reason to this being a showato pre shin gunto. The Fuchi is marked with japanese characters that read ((( Sugahara))) and the Kanji has a small disk bearing the japanese characters meaning  ((( Sugahara))). This is the last name of the solder that carried this katana. The mounts are all army mounts. The Tsuba is a standard army  tsuba. One of the sepoa the bigger one. appears to have been replaced and is not original. The katana had a small spring loaded locking mechanism that has been removed but you can see tsuka has a spot removed for this and the inside of the Saya also has a place for it to lock into. The sword is in nice field used condition. There are no major chips in the blade. There are one or two micro micro chips which are barely noticeable unless with a fine tooth comb. The blade looks like it was cleaned a very long time ago and there are some polish/ rubmarks.  The nagasa fits snugly in the Saya. Please see photos for over all condition.
