    Description

WW2 Japanese Hari Kari Knife. This is absolutely the finest example of a WW2 Sepekku knife i have seen. Recently acquired from the Marine veterans son. He stated the knife had been captured on Saipan (a rather grisly tale). The blade is clay tempered with very little spotting on the blade. Mostly bright (and hard to photograph). This is an absolute treasure. Overall length of the sheathed knife is 10 inches.the unsheathed knife is 9 inches. The blade is one inch at the base and tapers to about 3/4 an inch. I am hesitant to remove the handle. The knife is extremely solid with no wobble or shrinkage. No cracks or chips noted. If you need additional pictures or info, do not hesitate to drop me a note. Thanks for looking
