WW2 JAPANESE NAVAL ADMIRALS DRESS SABER

Description

S151W, Few made by custom order, most of which were lost at sea during WW2. The few remaining were captured, or surrendered. 26" highly polished steel blade with dual blood grooves on each side. All brass hilt mountings are engraved and embossed and retain much of the gold plating. Butterfly on left side of the hand guard folds down on a hinge and locks the scabbard shut in place. Original leather scabbard with brass mountings and rings all intact, decorated and retains much gold plating. The hand grip is best quality ray skin with brass braid in 3 strands, broken in only 1 spot and repairable. Length sheathed 33.25", very fancy and showy and in very good used condition overall. All original and complete, ship weight is 5 pounds.
