WW II JAPANESE SAMURAI SWORD KANEMICHI 1941 TECH SCH INSTRUCTOR

Description

This is another of my long time veteran acquired swords brought back post WW 2 as souvenirs.
Tang is signed w/ 3 characters;   兼道作  KANEMICHI SAKU       ura signed;

一年  = 1941  This is the emperical type of dating system sometimes found on gendaito's .. This also has the  "SHOWA"  stamp which means it was made after the beginning of Showa period beginning 1926 and obviously it is dated 41 .
blade cutting length   26 1/4"  or   66.7cm
hamon;  kind of a rolling gunome w/togariba.  boshi is Omaru w/shallow turn back. (blade has some light staining up around the monouchi but could easily be polished out.  NO fatal flaws and hamon is 99% visible thruout the blade.

fairly deep curvature (sori)
plain iron tsuba, FK plain brass , menuki ginko leaf lying over crab ? hard to tell

A  good looking 20th C sword by a leading swordsmith. Makes for a nice additon to that WWII Japanese sword collection.
