It accepts quarters only it does play for free as well and is labeled 'not a gambling device'. It is mechanically operated and requires no batteries. It works great, the bell rings when you get a winning combination. though I never hit a jackpot to see if it pays out. It stands 13 inches tall and in very good cosmetic condition. .
