Vintage Imperial Japanese Katana Samurai Sword Lacquered Wood Scabbard with Hanger.  As can be seen in the photographs, the wooden scabbard was originally covered in Black Lacquer, but the finish has deteriorated over the years.  The wood base is still pretty intact, but the scabbard needs some restoration work.  The scabbard is 27" long from the tip of the scabbard to the throat opening.  The wood scabbard has split along the center, but that is easily repaired.  It does have one hanger in place and it probably needs a throat section and possibly a metal drag / tip.  I am pretty sure that the 27" bladed Katana is also one of the most desirable lengths in Samurai swords, so here is a scabbard, with some restoration work, it would work well for that 27" Katana.  The scabbard is intact, but needs some TLC.
