    Description

    Maker
: This set of 5 beautiful and classically elegant cups and saucers is by L. Bernardaud, the renowned Limoges firm that has produced exceptional quality porcelain since 1863 and remains a major player in Limoges today.
    Marks
: On the reverse of each piece is either the green D & Co France white ware mark number 3 that was in use between 1894 and 1900 or the green B & Co white ware mark number 1 that was in use from 1900 to 1914.
Bernardaud began its long life as Délinières, or D & Co, in the 1870s and transitioned to the name Bernardaud - B & Co - around 1900. This set is composed of pieces produced around that time.
Two saucers have the rare gold version of the Bernardaud decorator's mark number 3, in use from 1900 to the 1930s. Two have the rare red R. Délinières et Cie script mark number 5, in use from 1894 to 1900, and one has the red L. Bernardaud decorator's mark number 3 that was in use from 1900 until the 1930s.
The gold retailer's mark of Higgins & Seiter, a high-end New York store that closed in 1915, appears on two saucers.
    Design
: The pattern features a thin black Greek key band and gold scrollwork on pure white porcelain. Replacements.com calls this pattern BER6.
    Condition
: All 10 pieces are in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, crazing, stains or repairs, just light wear to some of the edges and to the lower part of the handles on 2 cups.
    Size
: The cups are about 3 5/8 inches wide - one is slightly bigger - and 2 1/4 inches tall. The saucers are about 5 5/8 inches wide. The set weighs 2 pounds 3 ounces.
Please check all the photos very carefully – they are an important part of the description.
