a return or factory-second, nor is it defective in any way--it is exactly the same product you would receive directly from the manufacturer or any reputable retailer.  This is a new and genuine product.  Pen shown is product you shall receive.
*Condition Note:  New and sealed with distressed outer-box.  The protective box has a fine scratch in one of the flaps, likely from a blade during unpackaging.  It should be noted that these outer boxes are generally in distressed condition and are only intended to protect the product.  Outer shrink-wrap has been removed but inner content is sealed.
The 2020 Writers Limited Edition 1831 Victor Hugo Rollerball Pen honors the great writer with a luxurious design that is distinctively Montblanc.  It features
design elements inspired by Notre-Dame and Hugo's novel Notre-Dame de Paris.  The cap and barrel are decorated with Gothic arches in a platinum-coated skeletal overlay with red lacquer in the relief.  A rosette on the cap is stylized after the window of Notre-Dame.  The end of the clip is shaped like the clapper of a bell, recalling the the bell-ringer Quasimodo and the bells of Notre-Dame.  The cone recalls the posts to which Quasimodo was chained and features a single link on the end; it is further decorated with a yellow lacquer inlay and trefoil frieze engraving.  The finial is engraved with ‘Chaque homme dans sa nuit s’en va vers sa lumière’ from Les Contemplations, surrounding the iconic Montblanc snowcap in mother-of-pearl.  One of 1831 limited pieces, the year of the novel's first publication.
