Description

Welcome!
I offer for your consideration a beautiful mid-century Navajo bracelet which is entirely hand constructed in a shadowbox setting and a general form which Tommy Singer used in the 1960s which is wider at the center narrows at the sides and widens again at the terminals and has shadowbox set turquoise in the center. This particular piece has numerous unique hand made elements, such as the scalloped inside frame of the shadowbox, the gorgeous old stamp work all around the upper level of silver, and the separator bars which have unique stamp work as well. Also note the application of two hand made raindrops. The three turquoise stones appear to be very old and fabulous Morenci mine natural turquoise, just loaded with pyrite. The entire bracelet is exquisite and aesthetically perfect
.
This piece is 2" wide at the center narrows at the sides and widens to about 1-15/16" at the terminals. The internal length of the silver alone is 5-1/4", the gap is an additional 1-1/8" and the total internal length is 6-3/8". The weight is 76.6grams. The central green stone is 1" x 11/16" and the side blue stones are 13/16" x 1/2". This piece is unsigned which is common for that period of time and also not marked for silver content, however I have an attribution which I confidently feel is correct. This was made by Roger A. Lewis, who hand made his work in this manner. I have had the fabulous bracelets of his. Though unmarked which is usual for the times it is at least coin silver at .900 or more likely sterling at .925. The condition is excellent vintage, wearable and collectible.
Elegant and lovely! Entirely unique and special, hand constructed in every respect. The design is different and the turquoise is exceptionally beautiful. A great piece for your collection and for frequent use. I think you'll love it. It has become a signature piece for me.

When I include pages from published books in my listings it is in accordance with Fair Use Law, which permits the use of source material for discussion, reference, education and criticism.
Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.
