Description
This rare 11 x 14 document with an actual fragment of the service tower for Launch Complex 14 in Cape Canaveral is a unique piece of Space history. This is the Launch complex that put our first man in orbit (John Glenn, of course!) in February of 1962 on the infamous "Friendship 7" that sat on top of an Atlas LV-3B launch vehicle.
Scott Carpenter, Walter Schirra and Gordon Cooper also blasted off from here.
The complex was demolished in 1976 due to safety reasons.
The document is slightly yellowed with age (it is from 1976 after all), but has held up well.
This was picked up at an estate sale on Merritt Island and is being sold-as is.
This would make an excellent gift to a space buff
