This is a Japanese WWll Army officer`s sword in mountings.   The blade is signed "Fujiwara Kaneaki saku kore 藤原兼明作之",

Kaneaki`s real name is Kuriyama Genjiro, born in De., 1888, lived in Seki city, Gifu prefecture, made swords during WWll time period and after the war, listed in John Slough`s book page 37, 38 and rated 1 Million yen.     The blade is traditional hand forged, water quenched Gendaito blade, in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust, no stain and in good condition.       The temper line is wavy

temper and has deep temper at the point.       There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp.  The scabbard is glossy lacquered heavy metal scabbard, shows tiny dent, lacquer loss, but no bend and in good condition.     The handle is tight fit,
tsuka-ito
wrapping shows aged wear and in decent condition.       Tsuba, seppa and lock pin are matched number 8 stamped.  Lock mechanism works fine.   It came with blue/ brown lieutenant grade sword tassel shows aged wear and in decent condition.        It measures 27" tip to the guard, 26+1/4" cutting edge, 1+3/16" width, 7 mm thickness at the notch and 39" in mountings.       Shipping is priority in U.S.   No international shipping.  Payment dues within 3 days auction end.
