Description
Here we have a Early War Japanese bayonet for the type 30 rifle. Starting with the handle, the wood still is in good shape for the age this bayonet is. It has visible wear and has more than likely seen combat as well as a very low serial number is seen on the handle also. #512654 of 8,400,000 made. The button to attach and unattach this bayonet to a rifle still works flawlessly. The handle has a small amount of rust on one side that is very easily removable. The guard of the bayonet is in nice condition, with obvious signs of age. The blade of the bayonet has been in storage for quite some time and is in very good condition. The tip is still very sharp as well as the edges of the bayonet, and next to no flaws are seen. The arsenal stamp is also seen on the blade and is from the Rikugun Zoheisho arsenal. Finishing up at the scabbard, there is rust on it but can be easily cleaned up. The scabbard itself is in good condition and sits with the bayonet very snug. The tip of the scabbard is also still in great condition with little signs of damage.
