Japanese Taisho- Showa World War 2 Era, Gendai Katana Signed- Kiku Ichimon Kanemori Saku, traditional samurai style mounts. The blade has a strong wide Chofu-Gunome Hamon and the Nakago is Ubu, one hole. The samurai style handle and Habaki on this sword are original and unaltered. The tsuba is an early Edo era C. 1600 swordmakers type and fits the blade well. The Saya is recently but traditionally made and it’s completed with textured black lacquer and added band of same. The Fuchi is Edo era high-quality with heavy gold inlay and an inner liner sleeve. The Kashira is old Horn and Copper menuki are in the form of running Shishi-dogs with much oxidization. The wrap is stained from use and slightly worn but it’s completely intact. Blade shows scattered spots of light surface rust which will be removed completely with Polish. Blade has no kizu and is a prime candidate for Restoration. 65.4 cm blade Nagasa 96.5 cm overall length in scabbard. See photos for more complete detail.Condition is “Used”.
