    A Japanese Type 30 Bayonet with Scabbard
    The Type 30 bayonet fit the 6.5mm Type 30 rifle, and later rifles: 6.5mm Type 38 rifle, 6.5mm Type I Carcano Rifle, and 7.7mm Type 99 rifle.
    The scabbard is steel with green paint, which was apparently added after WWII to scabbards that were issued in Korea.
    The forward 10-1/2 inches of the bayonet were sharpened at some point based on the grind marks on the edge. It's just somewhat sharp now.  The blade is straight and everything is secure.  The overall length is about 1/16 inch less than 20 inches.
    The pommel is serial numbered and has a Japanese character stamped beneath the number. See the photo.
    The scabbard has a small dent on the front, with the six inches below that having just a slight bend. It doesn't affect use.  It has the tubular type tip.
