    Description

Fine WWII era, Gendai Katana- Signed- Jumyo using Yasuki steel, Important Sword. This is the swordsmith Kato Jumyo who won a second seat- quasi-national sword smith in the 1941, 6th exhibition of newly made Japanese swords competition in Japan. He’s using a two character signature but is pointing out the specific type of native steel used in the construction of this sword. The sword is in minty condition with some minor rubs to the saya finish, slight signs of period use and fading of the original polish. The hamon is primarily a controlled Sanbansugi- Triple Cedar- gunome. No bends and this sword has a longer kissaki/point.  Blade nagasa is 27". Handle pommel carries a Silver family mon/crest.
