With the discovery of King Tut’s tomb in 1922 there was a craze for Egyptian Revival jewelry. The Neiger Brothers, Max and Norbert Neiger had a jewelry business from 1905 to 1930s in Gablonz, Czechosovakia specializing in figural glass elements. In 1939 the Germans invaded this area and the brothers fled to Bohemia. As Jews they were continually persecuted and eventually arrested in Prague. In 1942 they were exterminated by the Nazis at Auschwitz.
