Antique Japanese Sword 35" Blade / Family Crest Silver MON - WWII ???

Up for sale, an antique Japanese sword with a silver family crest/badge on the grip.  I don't have a clue what family or samurai clan this represents.
I'm not sure how old the sword is, I was guessing it is WWII era but I do not know for certain.  There are a few condition issues which stand out to me..... the wire on the grip is fraying in spots, also the very back cap of the grip is slightly wobbly/loose.  In addition, the scabbard is slightly bent at the end.  I can't tell that the blade has been effected, it looks straight.  The blade has a wavy pattern to the steel and looks to be in rather good shape with only minor oxidation in spots.  The sharpened portion of the blade measures 35 inches to tip.  Please see pics for overall cosmetic condition.  The majority of the black finish has worn away from the scabbard.
