    Description

1993 NATO SHOWEST COKE SPONSORSHIP CANVAS TOTE BAG
This was a gift bag given out to participants at the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO) award ceremonies at the Bally's Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, on March 8th - 11th 1993. It is in great condition, with no holes anywhere (see pictures of inside out bag) and has minor stains plus a dirty handle that can be cleaned, but I thought I would leave that up to the new owner.

Asalways, NATO/ShoWest promises glitz, high-powered movie exex, starsand the two largest soft drink companies on Earth —
    Coca-Cola
andPepsi-USA, who are among a full slate of host sponsors for thisyear’s show.
Onthe Hollywood side, host companies are Columbia, TriStar Pictures,Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures. Each has agreed to ponyup the estimated $ 500,000 to compile a product reel for distributorsthis year.
Thereare a handful of surprise event sponsors this year, including NewLine Cinema, Trimark Pictures and Gecko Films, a Miami-based filmdistributor that will show clips from at least six movies.
NATO/ShoWestgeneral chairman Tim Warner said he expects a sellout for this year’sconvention with the majority of attention focused on the filmspreviewed.
Aproduct-oriented convention would mark a sharp contrast to theprevious two years, when such issues as an overall industry slump,Universal Pictures’ call for half-price tickets on Tuesdays, thePersian Gulf War and the Katzenberg memo dominated the proceedings.

Thequestion prior to last year’s convention was whether the industrywas doing bad business because of the recession or bad product,”Warner said. “The answer that came back was that, if we got goodproduct, we got good business in spite of the economy.”
Warnersaid exhibitors will be anxious to see if 1993 product can match suchbox office successes as “A Few Good Men,””BasicInstinct,””Batman Returns” and “A League of Their Own.”
Amongthe movies expected to be in this year’s spotlight are Columbia’s“Last Action Hero,” Paramount’s “The Firm,” Warner Bros.’“Dennis the Menace,” TriStar’s “Cliffhanger,” New Line’s“Surf Ninjas” and TriMark’s “Separate Lives.”
ColumbiaTriStar Film Distributors International will host the internationalsymposium, which has emerged as one of the industry’s mostimportant roundups of overseas business.
Confirmedspeakers include Motion Picture Export Association of Americapresident Myron Karlin, who will speak on “The Relationship ofGovernment Policies and the Development of the InternationalMarketplace.”
